Title: SASSCO Feedback on Issues - Athelete entries
Post by: Johan on February 22, 2017, 10:17:48 AM
Dear Mr. Jacobs

Please find the communications attached regarding the entries of Esmarie van Reenen, Martin Senore and Casper Uys for the Munich World Cup in 2016. Here is a summary:

The First Entry Request and entry forms were e-mailed on 10 April 2016 to Henks Attorneys
The Next Entry Request and forms were e-mailed on 16 April to SASCOC and SASSCo
The Last Entry Request and forms were e-mailed on 23 April to SASCOC and SASSCo
The SASSCo entry forms were sent to ISSF on 7 May
The ISSF Responded on 8 May that Events and Hotels are full. Esmarie could go but had to pay E500 late entry fee in Munich

The letters sent requested entry prior to 26 April and also requested clarification on the selection criteria.

Questions
Is it realistic to state that 3 senior athletes would spend time preparing for a competition but then send in their entry forms late?
Is it realistic to state that the urgent letter sent to Henk's Attorneys on 10 April would not have been forwarded to SASSCo before the 26th (16 days)?
Were the requested criteria requested by these athletes sent to them?

The above athletes are prepared to go forward with legal action to claim damages. As SATRA we support our athletes but we would also like to normalise both our association's relationship and that of our athletes with SASSCo. We look forward to discussing the way forward to resolve this issue with SASSCO at a next meeting.

Regards
